Teteven is a fabulous small place in Bulgaria, nestled between the hills of Stara Planina. The city stretches in the lowlands along the river Vit, and around it rise high peaks and rocky hills. The mild winter and cool summer make the area one of the most attractive for tourism in Bulgaria. The many eco-trails, waterfalls and panoramic views attract thousands of tourists every year, but there is much more to see here than the natural sights. The city of Teteven was a highly developed craft town with many craftsmen and wealthy residents. There are many preserved artefacts from the past that you can explore, as well as the amazing churches, monasteries and chapels in the area.See more
The Teteven region is one of the places I had not visited until now, and to tell you the truth, after we drove from Yablanitsa to Teteven, my eyes were moving along the windshield of the car and I couldn't get enough of this beauty.
And the eco-trail "Under the spray of the waterfall" will energize you, fill your eyes with views and occupy a special place in your memories. Many waterfalls, very beautiful nature and fresh air.
There are many eco-trails in Bulgaria, and also many waterfalls, but I don't know if there is an eco-trail with so many waterfalls. One of the most beautiful areas in the Iskar gorge is the Bov area, and here we will go on an adventure in search of the "Pod Kamiko" waterfall meaning "Under the rock". What we didn't expect, however, was that at every turn on the trail we would come across a new beautiful waterfall, and the roar of the river would accompany us almost to our final destination.See more
The village of Dobravitsa is one of the smallest villages in the municipality of Svoge, but it stands out with its incredibly beautiful nature and interesting tourist sites. It is about 1,000 meters above sea level and has very suitable air for people with lung diseases. From the upper hamlet of the village begins the eco-trail to the Stolo Rock Phenomenon and from the lower hamlet begins the eco-trail to the Dobravishka Skaklya waterfall. The interesting thing about this village is that, despite its location in the heart of the Ponor mountain, here many years ago it was the bottom of a sea. There is still the possibility of encountering fossils of shells, molluscs and more.See more
