This week we decided to take on a more unusual walk and went in the direction of Radomir (Pernik region) in order to conquer the highest peak of the mountain Golo Bardo.
Vetrushka peak is located at 1158 m. above sea level and is the highest peak in the Golo Bardo mountain. There are several routes to it, the most popular being from the Orlite hut (from the direction of Radomir) and from the Slavey hut (from the direction of Pernik).
Suddenly an alarm rang, followed by another. One by one we started to get out of bed. It wasn't that early - around 6:40AM, but it's so sweet to sleep in a hut that you can't get easily up. We dressed properly, prepared the equipment and left the hut waiting for the sunrise. The plan changed in motion and we decided to wait for the sunrise on the hill next to the hut. We had thought that the sun would appear on this side. At one point, the sky turned fabulously pink. There was a very strong constant wind, but we were well dressed. I took the drone up in the air and started waiting for the first rays.
See morePirin Mountain is famous in mountaineering circles for its beautiful posture, its marble giants and its challenging nature. It is very beautiful, but it can also be very raw if you underestimate it.
Today I will take you to it to visit its peak - Vihren peak. Vihren rises to 2914 m. altitude and is the second highest peak in Bulgaria and the third highest on the Balkan Peninsula. The reason for his visit is my new series about the 100 national tourist sites of Bulgaria.
Golden Bridges are probably the most visited area on Vitosha. More than 100 years ago, mountain lovers, with backpacks on their backs, came on their weekends on the small paths from Knyazhevo, Boyana and Vladaya to enjoy the beautiful nature. Today, Zlatni Mostove is connected to the capital by road, and there is also a bus.
