Krinets Dam - chill, walk or fishing in Bansko with a view to Pirin

Krinets Dam occupies an area of only 18 decares. It has been used for irrigation in the past, but in 2014 it was decided to stock it with carp and trout. Today, life is in full swing near the dam and the good mood is in the air.

What can I do there?

The dam is one of the favorite places for rest, fishing and nature walks of the locals. There is a relaxation area with a maintained lawn and sun loungers, where you can spend your free time. Whether you read a book, listen to music or just lie down and enjoy the mountain view is entirely up to you.
If you prefer an active holiday you can walk along the dam wall and continue up to the forest. The path is quite steep, but extremely calm and you can recharge with energy from the fresh air and the aroma of the forest.
Did we mention fishing? Yes! The dam is well stocked and you can rent a fishing rod to enjoy your hobby.

Is there something to eat?

Oooh, yes! Right on the dam wall is the restaurant "Dam Krinets". In it you can eat freshly caught trout from the dam, try typical specialties from Bansko or traditional Bulgarian cuisine. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating areas, and a children’s playground is provided. The prices are excellent and guests from all over the country come for the delicious dishes. See the restaurant page here.

How to get there?

The dam is located shortly after the resort of St. Ivan Rilski and about 2 km walk from the center. From the main road after the complex turn left following a small sign with the inscription "Krinets Dam". After that, turn right and start looking around. We found it a little difficult because we are retro and we like to get lost.

I would advise you to enter the place in Google maps or directly the coordinates 41.822454,23.494345 to get there quickly and easily.

Do not forget to enjoy the beautiful view of the high peaks of Pirin. And you can share your impressions of the dam in my guest book - click.
