Saturday walk from "Orlite" hut to Vetrushka peak in the Golo Bardo mountain

This week we decided to take on a more unusual walk and went in the direction of Radomir (Pernik region) in order to conquer the highest peak of the mountain Golo Bardo.

Vetrushka peak is located at 1158 m. above sea level and is the highest peak in the Golo Bardo mountain. There are several routes to it, the most popular being from the Orlite hut (from the direction of Radomir) and from the Slavey hut (from the direction of Pernik).

We chose the route from the Orlite hut up to Vetrushka peak. From the hut to the top are about 2 km. with ~ 250 meters denivelation. We took the road to the left of the "ski track" and soon reached a fork with a sign for Vetrushka Peak on the left. From there we followed the trail and enjoyed the views of the high snow-capped peaks of Rila, Pirin and Vitosha.

We reached a peak with a flag, but no name, and enjoyed the beautiful panorama. From there to Vetrushka peak it took us another 5 minutes.

Last steps aaaaaand ... we're there! Our little dog Jerry climbed her first peak and what a peak it is. The highest one in Golo Bardo mountain.

We stopped for a short break as we ate, and we also gave Jerry a well-deserved meal as a reward.

Then we decided to make it more interesting and took the "asphalt" road down, which was longer and with many turns. After about 4 km we reached back to the starting point.
Nice and pleasant walk in the nature!

If you need a GPS track you can find it with my friends from Varhove.Info along with other routes to Vetrushka peak here: https://varhove.info/vetrushka/
