Eco-path "Pod Kamiko" - about Bov's waterfalls with love

There are many eco-trails in Bulgaria, and also many waterfalls, but I don't know if there is an eco-trail with so many waterfalls. One of the most beautiful areas in the Iskar gorge is the Bov area, and here we will go on an adventure in search of the "Pod Kamiko" waterfall meaning "Under the rock". What we didn't expect, however, was that at every turn on the trail we would come across a new beautiful waterfall, and the roar of the river would accompany us almost to our final destination.

Dobravishka Skaklya waterfall - the hidden jewel of the Ponor mountain

The village of Dobravitsa is one of the smallest villages in the municipality of Svoge, but it stands out with its incredibly beautiful nature and interesting tourist sites. It is about 1,000 meters above sea level and has very suitable air for people with lung diseases. From the upper hamlet of the village begins the eco-trail to the Stolo Rock Phenomenon and from the lower hamlet begins the eco-trail to the Dobravishka Skaklya waterfall. The interesting thing about this village is that, despite its location in the heart of the Ponor mountain, here many years ago it was the bottom of a sea. There is still the possibility of encountering fossils of shells, molluscs and more.

The Stolo rock phenomenon - the pearl in the crown of the Ponor mountain

The Stolo rock phenomenon is the jewel in the crown of Ponor Mountain. It is located near Svoge, Bulgaria on the road from Sofia to Montana (about 50 km from Sofia). The walk to the rocks is about 4km long and very pleasant, and the end of the path will reward you with its beautiful view. Stolo is a rocky ridge and is known for its sheer cliffs and the incredible panorama that opens to Vitosha, Rila and Mount Kom.

Fotinski Waterfalls - an extreme but also a very beautiful place to visit

Fotinski waterfalls are one of the most beautiful waterfalls I have visited, but also one of the most challenging. They are located in the Western Rhodopes, Bulgaria near the village of Fotinovo. They are 3 in number and are about 6-7 meters high, and the tallest about 16 meters. The walk to them is 3-4 km long and will take you about an hour, but the beautiful scenery and the noise of the river will definitely make it feel like just a moment.

Dorkovo Pliocene Park - the home of the Auvergne mastodon

You love history, wonder what nature looked like on these lands millions of years ago, are curious and like animals, then the Pliocene Park in the village of Dorkovo is the place for you! As soon as you step inside, you are transported back millennia. In the middle of the hall you will notice a huge mastodon with a height of almost four meters and tusks three and a half meters long. Hidden speakers play sounds that help you go back in time and feel the place. On the wall there is a panorama of the surrounding nature at the time of the mastodon with the typical animal and plant species. The overall feel of this place is very pleasant and despite its small area it will help you feel the place as it was, even if only for a short time. And the memory of the visit will definitely stay with you for a long time.
