Suddenly an alarm rang, followed by another. One by one we started to get out of bed. It wasn't that early - around 6:40AM, but it's so sweet to sleep in a hut that you can't get easily up. We dressed properly, prepared the equipment and left the hut waiting for the sunrise. The plan changed in motion and we decided to wait for the sunrise on the hill next to the hut. We had thought that the sun would appear on this side. At one point, the sky turned fabulously pink. There was a very strong constant wind, but we were well dressed. I took the drone up in the air and started waiting for the first rays.

Pirin Mountain is famous in mountaineering circles for its beautiful posture, its marble giants and its challenging nature. It is very beautiful, but it can also be very raw if you underestimate it.
Today I will take you to it to visit its peak - Vihren peak. Vihren rises to 2914 m. altitude and is the second highest peak in Bulgaria and the third highest on the Balkan Peninsula. The reason for his visit is my new series about the 100 national tourist sites of Bulgaria.

The dam is one of the favorite places for rest, fishing and nature walks of the locals. There is a relaxation area with a maintained lawn and sun loungers, where you can spend your free time. Whether you read a book, listen to music or just lie down and enjoy the mountain view is entirely up to you. If you don't feel like it, you can walk along the dam wall and continue up to the forest.
See moreGolden Bridges are probably the most visited area on Vitosha. More than 100 years ago, mountain lovers, with backpacks on their backs, came on their weekends on the small paths from Knyazhevo, Boyana and Vladaya to enjoy the beautiful nature. Today, Zlatni Mostove is connected to the capital by road, and there is also a bus.

It is not clear when and who created the monastery. This is due to the great fire in the 17th century, which damaged a large part of the monastery complex and burned the monastery library. The oldest objects found here are ornaments and coins from the time of Michael VIII Palaeologus (1250-85).
The monastery was restored at the beginning of the XVIII century with the financial help of rich bulgarians from all over the country. Reconstruction began in 1715, and the church was fully completed in 1732.
