Teteven is a fabulous small place in Bulgaria, nestled between the hills of Stara Planina. The city stretches in the lowlands along the river Vit, and around it rise high peaks and rocky hills. The mild winter and cool summer make the area one of the most attractive for tourism in Bulgaria. The many eco-trails, waterfalls and panoramic views attract thousands of tourists every year, but there is much more to see here than the natural sights. The city of Teteven was a highly developed craft town with many craftsmen and wealthy residents. There are many preserved artefacts from the past that you can explore, as well as the amazing churches, monasteries and chapels in the area.

"In the kingdom of periwinkle" is an eco-trail that will enchant you and you will remain forever in love with Strandzha mountain. There is also the only place in Bulgaria where you can see this plant. Contrary to all expectations, the Strandja periwinkle is not green, but has bright purple-pink colors and creates a fairy-tale atmosphere. It blooms beautifully in late May and early June and is well worth a visit during this period.

The wind took us to Nikopol, but the beautiful nature, interesting places and good people convinced us to want to be there again. I had never set foot in Nikopol before, but this place managed to energize me and I felt the adventurous atmosphere that I look for in these places. The boat ride was absolutely amazing and the islands along the river are something to see. "The Maldives of Nikopol" as Veni called them, are here and waiting for you.

The Teteven region is one of the places I had not visited until now, and to tell you the truth, after we drove from Yablanitsa to Teteven, my eyes were moving along the windshield of the car and I couldn't get enough of this beauty.
And the eco-trail "Under the spray of the waterfall" will energize you, fill your eyes with views and occupy a special place in your memories. Many waterfalls, very beautiful nature and fresh air.
